BOB DYLAN, L’EXPLOSION ROCK 61-66

The GRAMMY Museum recently collaborated with the Musée de la musique in Paris, France, to create our newest traveling exhibition, Bob Dylan, l’explosion rock 61-66. Curated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli, Bob Dylan, l’explosion rock 61-66 tells the story of the earliest part of Dylan’s career, highlighting his musical influences such as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly, The Kingston Trio, Odetta and Woody Guthrie. The exhibition illustrates Dylan’s participation in the American folk revival, centered in Greenwich Village, and the pioneering role he played in the subsequent folk rock genre. In addition to a large collection of photographs by noted photographer Daniel Kramer, who spent a year and a day shooting Dylan, the exhibition features original posters and documents as well as an unmatched collection of original instrument from artists such as Elvis, Buddy Holly, Woody Guthrie, John Cohen, John Sebastian, Peter Yarrow and Pete Seeger, among others.

Bob Dylan, l’explosion rock 61-66 will be on display at the Musée de la musique through July 15, 2012, before traveling elsewhere in Europe and the UK.
