The Grammy Museum is thrilled to welcome Clave Especial to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening celebrating the release of their EP, out on April 30th with a conversation about their creative process and rising career, plus a special performance.
Clave Especial are a Salinas, California-born group redefining the scope of Música Mexicana through a balance of cultural roots, discipline, and modern scale.
They first broke through with their debut album Mija No Te Asustes (2025), a project that earned platinum certification in the United States, reached #2 on Apple Music, and has generated over 3 billion global streams. The album produced multiple standout records, including collaborations with Fuerza Regida, Edgardo Núñez, and Luis R. Conriquez, and led to their first #1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart with “TU TU TU.” Their momentum has translated into over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify, multiple RIAA certifications, and recognition from major industry platforms including Billboard and Rolling Stone.
Their rise has been further solidified through key industry acknowledgments, including nominations at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Premio Lo Nuestro, as well as a win at Premios Juventud, underscoring their growing impact across both U.S. and Latin markets.
Rather than positioning themselves as a crossover act, Clave Especial operate naturally across the U.S. and Mexico, engaging a unified audience shaped by both markets. Their music reflects a generation that moves fluidly between identities, combining traditional regional influences with a contemporary, street-driven perspective.
Their upcoming EP, set for release on April 30, builds on that foundation while expanding their role within the genre’s current wave. Featuring collaborators such as JOP, Gemelos de Sinaloa, Armenta, Calle 24, and Chuyin, the project emphasizes community and alignment within a network of artists pushing Música Mexicana forward. It arrives after more than a year of sustained growth, reinforcing Clave Especial not as a breakout act, but as a consistent and developing force.
