Songs of Conscience, Sounds of Freedom, curated by the Los Angeles-based GRAMMY Museum®, tells the story of American music as it wrestled with issues and ideologies that ran counter to the spirit and soul of America. It is a musical journey through the trials and tribulations of our nation’s history, a soundtrack of the struggle for freedom and justice, a fight and a sound that continues today.
To celebrate Black History Month and the opening of Songs of Conscience, Sounds of Freedom, the GRAMMY Museum will host a FREE evening of conversations and performances with Randy Savvy from the Compton Cowboys and other Compton-based artists inside the Clive Davis Theater. The 90-minute program will start at 5:00 pm, and will be followed by a gallery reception.
