His pioneering blend of a broad range of musical styles including rock n’ roll, Americana, reggae, blues and soul has captivated a worldwide audience. He has been called an “edgy urban poet,” “the sound of New York,” and “an explorer of the links between rock, race and rebellion.” Join as the GRAMMY Museum welcomes acclaimed singer/songwriter Garland Jeffreys to the Clive Davis Theater. His most recent release, The King of In Between, is his first full-length album of new music in 13 years, and marks a return to the more rootsy sounds of his earlier work, most notably his acclaimed 1977 album Ghost Writer and hit single Wild In The Streets. Garland is also known for his collaborations with an amazing roster of talents including Sonny Rollins, Dr. John, James Taylor, Lou Reed and John Cale. Hear him discuss his expansive career and the making of his latest album in an intimate interview with GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli. Following the interview, Jeffreys will take audience questions and will perform a selection of songs.
