Petula Clark conquered the international world of pop music as the most successful female recording artist to hail from England in the 1960s. Concurrent with the Beatles, Petula contributed her versatile talents to the musical British Invasion of America, winning the first of two GRAMMY Awards for her #1 hit Downtown. In addition to groundbreaking stardom in the U.S, Petula has performed in concert and charted dozens of hit songs across the globe — including My Love, This Is My Song, I Know A Place and Don’t Sleep In The Subway — selling over 70 million recordings internationally. Also enjoying popularity with a parallel career singing in French, Petula has been honored with the Grand Prix National Du Disque Francais, Bravos Du Music Hall and The Grand Medal of the Council of Paris. Beyond the hits, Petula became a household name via numerous television specials and guest appearances along with motion pictures and stage musicals. Beginning as a child star in the U.K., Petula established herself as a worldwide superstar embracing every aspect of the entertainment industry with an extraordinary career spanning over seven decades. Join Executive Director Bob Santelli as he welcomes the legendary Petula Clark to the Clive Davis Theater to discuss her life in music, including her latest album, Lost In You, presenting Petula in a contemporary environment mixing new material with a fresh reworking of her pop classic Downtown.
