A Conversation With Jack White

Born the youngest of ten children, raised in Southwest Detroit and a resident of Nashville since 2005, Jack White has become one of the most renowned artists of the past fifteen years. Please join us in welcoming him to the Clive Davis Theater for a unique afternoon discussion with the prolific musician. When the White Stripes started in 1997 no one, least of all Jack, ever expected that a red-and-white two-piece band would take hold in the mainstream world. With the release of 2001’s White Blood Cells the band was thrust on magazine covers and captivating audiences through worldwide touring. Since then, White has won nine GRAMMY Awards in seven different categories. Hear White in discussion, along with GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli, about his Detroit roots and formation of the White Stripes, his work with his newer bands, the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather, as well as his debut solo album, Blunderbuss. White will also appearing in concert August 11th at Shrine Auditorium.
