Multi-platinum Canadian singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes is taking the music industry by storm as he gears up for the release of his sophomore album Illuminate. He jump started his career by posting cover videos online and released his debut No. 1 album Handwritten in 2015 featuring his hit “Stitches,” which became his first Top 10 single in the U.S. and has since been certified 4x platinum. Mendes has recently announced a September 23 release for his new album Illuminate, which includes his current radio hit “Treat You Better.” Listed among TIME magazine’s 25 most influential teens in 2014 and 2015, and in 2016 appearing on Forbes’ annual “30 under 30” list, Shawn Mendes is making a name for himself. Having opened for Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour last year, Mendes is currently headlining his entirely sold out world tour. The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Shawn Mendes to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation on his rising career and new album, hosted by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares. The discussion will be followed by a performance.
