In celebration of his upcoming 80th birthday, the GRAMMY Museum welcomes some friends of Ray Charles: John Burk (Chief Creative Officer, Concord Music Group), Valerie Ervin (President, Ray Charles Foundation), Tony Gumina (President, Ray Charles Marketing Group) and others to discuss the never-before-heard Rare Genius: The Undiscovered Masters, scheduled for release on Oct. 26 on Concord Records.  The panel, moderated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Robert Santelli, will discuss the process Burk went through to gather tracks from four decades of previously unissued material housed at Charles’ RPM International Studios.  What resulted is an album of recordings from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s that reaffirm Ray’s undeniable talent including the highly anticipated unreleased duet between Charles and Johnny Cash of Kris Kristofferson’s “Why Me Lord?”
