GRAMMY Award-winning artist Jonny Lang is back in the spotlight once again with the announcement of his new album, Signs, as well as his North American tour, which kicks off this August.  Set for release on Sept. 8, Signs is Lang’s first album in four years following Fight For My Soul.  Amongst the repertoire on the guitar driven collection are several songs Lang has acknowledged were inspired by minimalist recordings of Blues greats Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf.  Gaining influence from B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and others, Lang has created his own distinctive sound characterized by deep guitar tones, strong melodies, and bluesy rhythm. First gaining public praise at the age of 15 with his first platinum record, Lie to Me, Lang has continued to create timeless music.  Since his first GRAMMY nomination, Lang has received two more nominations, including his win in 2006 for Best Rock Or Rap Gospel Album with Turn Around.  Twenty-one years after the start of his career, Lang has added life experience to his already spectacular style, which is chronicled in the recordings off the new album.  At the young age of 36, Lang has now been performing for over two decades, gaining praise as one of the best live performers of his time.  Lang has shared the stage with several music legends, including the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, as well as some of his greatest influences — King and Guy — who he still tours with today.  Known for his stellar guitar playing and soulful voice, Lang continues to experiment with new and old elements, adding on to his own distinctive sound.  Early fans of Lang will admire his growth on the new album, while newer fans will revel in his modern soulful style.  The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Jonny Lang to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation about his return to the spotlight and new album, as well as a live performance, featuring songs off Signs. Join Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum, Scott Goldman, in welcoming Jonny Lang.
