Actor, comedian, writer, voice artist, musician, author and radio host Harry Shearer, in addition to Le Show and his work on The Simpsons, was made famous by a stint on Saturday Night Live, radio comedy group the Credibility Gap, his performances in Christopher Guest films A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration and for actual tours with the comedy band Spinal Tap (collaborating with Guest and Michael McKean). Known for his bitingly satirical songs and impersonations, Shearer was GRAMMY nominated for his CDs Songs Pointed and Pointless and Songs of the Bushmen. His last album, Greed & Fear, was a searing satirical attack on Wall Street in the wake of the world economic meltdown. To help celebrate his most recent album, Can’t Take a Hint, please join us as we welcome Shearer to The Clive Davis Theater for a hilarious inside look into a fascinating career. Hear about the making of the album, which features collaborations with Dr. John, Fountains of Wayne, Jamie Cullum, Jane Lynch, Alice Russell, Judith Owen, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and Steve Lukather among others, and hear Shearer perform selections from the record. The event will be moderated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli.
