Hosted and created by Marvin Etzioni We’d love to turn you on to the original mix of Sgt. Pepper approved by George Martin and The Beatles. Yes, the psychedelic mono mix will be played on vinyl. Imagine a theater. As Chuck Berry would say, “the place is packed.” The lights go out. An album cover is on the screen, and suddenly, a vinyl record begins to play. From the first song on side one, to the last song on side two — no phones, no computers, no interruptions. This is The Record Theater. Back for the eighth time by popular demand, the GRAMMY Museum invites you to the Clive Davis Theater to experience the mind-altering mono mix. On June 1, 1967, Sgt. Peppers was the first album ever to be simultaneously released around the world. Rolling Stone says it’s the greatest album of all time. “We spent three weeks on the mono mix and maybe three days on the stereo.” — Engineer/Mixer Geoff Emerick. After the final piano chord, special guests Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan, co-authors of Kaleidoscope Eyes: A Day in the Life of  Sgt. Pepper, and Chris Carter, host of “Breakfast with the Beatles” on KLOS, will join peermusic songwriter and record producer Marvin Etzioni onstage for a discussion and Q&A. Following the Q&A, one autographed copy of the book Kaleidoscope Eyes: A Day in the Life of Sgt. Pepper (a $500.00 value) will be given away.
