Moderated by Jason Bentley & featuring Pretty Lights’ Derek Vincent Smith, Rupert “Photek” Parkes and RAC, aka Andre Anjos Please join us for a thoughtful discussion on the craft of remixing, to include some of the brightest minds in Electronic Dance Music today, discussing their creative goals and techniques in remixing, including Pretty Lights’ Derek Vincent Smith, Rupert “Photek” Parkes and RAC, aka Andre Anjos. Pretty Lights’ Derek Vincent Smith made his name on what he described as “sample collage” to build live sets before embarking on the arduous process of creating his own sample sources to write his latest album A Color Map Of The Sun. GRAMMY nominee for “Best Remixer”, Rupert “Photek” Parkes’ secretive production methods are the stuff of urban legend. Always pushing sonic boundaries, his remixes of Daft Punk and Moby have earned him GRAMMY nominations the last two years.  RAC, aka Andre Anjos, is the mastermind behind beloved re-imaginations of tracks by artists ranging from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to Bob Marley To Bastille.  His remixes have reach #1 on the Hype Machine charts 24 times and his original debut EP Don’t Talk To is out now.  Moderated by Music Director of Santa Monica based NPR flagship KCRW and host of their signature music program Morning Becomes Eclectic, Jason Bentley will moderate the program. Bentley Produced the Bob Marley remix project Legend: Remixed for Tuff Gong/Universal Music earlier this year.
