Spotlight: MAX

Moderated by Tomás Mier

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome MAX to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening including a conversation about his creative process with his latest album, LOVE IN STEREO, his career, and more, with a performance to follow.

Multiplatinum Warner Records artist MAX has been labeled a “Young Pop God” by GQ, and named “one of the most versatile artists in pop music” by Billboard.

Since the breakout success of his full-length album Hell’s Kitchen Angel, MAX has garnered more than 4 billion streams and has toured the world multiple times over. He yielded an inescapable smash with “Lights Down Low,” which generated over half a billion streams globally and is certified triple platinum in the US, platinum in Canada and gold in Holland and Australia. It soared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart reaching No. 1 on Shazam and No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Radio Airplay chart. As the track took off, MAX delivered seismic renditions of it on The Late Late Show with James Corden, LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America and TRL.

He followed “Lights Down Low” with his hit single “Love Me Less” (ft. Quinn XCII), which is certified platinum in the US and has accumulated over 350 million streams worldwide. He performed it live on Jimmy Kimmel, TODAY, Kelly and Ryan and at the US Open’s Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day.

His sophomore album, Colour Vision, which released in September 2020, includes superstar features by SUGA of BTS, Quinn XCII, Hayley Kiyoko, Chromeo, bbno$, and more. His collaboration with SUGA, “Blueberry Eyes,” has accumulated over 400 million streams and 52 million YouTube video views since its release.

His third studio album, LOVE IN STEREO, released earlier this year, includes the RIAA Platinum certified single “Butterflies (feat. Ali Gatie),” “STRINGS” featuring fellow pop stars JVKE and Bazzi, “It’s You” feat. rising star keshi, “Say Less” feat. DUCKWRTH and focus single “STUPID IN LOVE” featuring HUH YUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM which has been taking the internet by storm with fan created dances trending across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube and Snapchat. MAX also delivered electrifying performances of the viral track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show alongside Huh Yunjin. Within its first two weeks of release, “STUPID IN LOVE” garnered over 25 million streams, and has accumulated an impressive 50 million streams to date.
