The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome artist of hit song Bulletproof and GRAMMY Award-winning musician La Roux in the midst of her sold out Los Angeles residency to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening discussing her latest music, her career, creative process, and more, with a special performance to follow.
La Roux burst onto the scene in 2009 with her Grammy-winning self-titled debut album and era-defining platinum records “In for the Kill,” “IFTK,” and “Bulletproof”. La Roux not only put synth-pop on the map with this album, but redefined pop music in the late 2000s, paving the way for other synth-pop artists to reach the mainstream. This trailblazing spirit quickly transcended music, and became known for her distinct androgynous style and non-conformist attitude, challenging the traditional expectations of what a pop star should look and act like. Her 2014 album Trouble in Paradise and 2020’s Supervision explored sounds that spanned genres, and her latest work will continue to push those boundaries. In her forthcoming album, which was 100% self-written, composed, and produced, La Roux parts ways with her past self and steps into her own narrative channeling themes of identity, reinvention, and personal liberation. Nearly 15 years later and having collaborated with some of the industry’s biggest names (Tyler the Creator, Skream, Major Lazer, New Order, Chromeo, Tion Wayne), La Roux continues to be a revolutionary artist who is unafraid to break the mold and challenge limits, all while advocating for her artistry and voice.
Proceeds help fund the GRAMMY Museum’s music education initiatives as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
