As the record industry’s most innovative and influential executive, Clive Davis has had a profound effect on the world of music, acting as both its champion and its critic, and as perhaps its most visible and respected spokesman. Clive Davis’ contributions to music, to a considerable extent, have guided the industry to its place in the new millennium. He has signed or nurtured some of our most successful musical artists such as Janis Joplin, Whitney Houston, Chicago, Santana, Aerosmith, Laura Nyro, Earth, Wind & Fire, Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, The Grateful Dead, Barry Manilow, Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Jennifer Hudson and dozens more to heights of artistic and popular acclaim, while his golden ears, creative support, and exceptional business sense have brought us some of the world’s most memorable recordings. Please join us in the theater, which was named after him, as we welcome back the legendary Clive Davis. Hear Davis in discussion about his unprecedented career, as well as his recently released autobiography, ‘The Soundtrack of My Life,’ which is ripe with never-before-heard tales of stars and the inner workings of the music business. The event will be hosted by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli.
