For our second installment of Homegrown, the new series that features local, Los Angeles-area based musicians performing in our intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater, we welcome Los Feliz natives The Airborne Toxic Event. Pensive and thought-provoking, band’s music captures fans’ hearts and minds through powerful lyrics and a sound described by Q Magazine as “U2-esque balladry, glam stomps, rabble rousing folk and soaring FM pop.” Their 2008 self-titled debut album met immediate success by remaining on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart for 53 consecutive weeks and Sometime Around Midnight was iTunes’ #1 Alternative Song of the Year. Performances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show With David Letterman and even a guest appearance on the season finale of Gossip Girl have solidified their star power. Currently, their single Changing: is top-10 on alternative radio and multiple critics praise their latest album All At Once, released on April 26. MTV2 awarded them with A-list rotation and VH1 selected them as a “You Oughta Know” artist which led the band to the #4 spot on VH1’s Top 20 countdown. Join us in for a special performance and exclusive interview with this alternative rock sensation. Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation Scott Goldman will moderate the event.
