Henry Kapono is a performer who has it all—vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, composer, thrilling performer, audience favorite—and multiple honors and awards, including a GRAMMY nomination. He has taken home numerous Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards (Hawai’i’s premiere music award), including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album & Rock Album of the Year. Kapono has always kept many different irons in the fire, from landing a multi-album Columbia Records deal in the ’70s with the phenomenally popular duo, Cecilio & Kapono, to launching his successful solo career in the ’80s, which produced 17 albums and fans around the world. In 2006 His groundbreaking “The Wild Hawaiian” collaborations fused the power of Hawaiian traditions with driving rock rhythms garnering him a GRAMMY nomination!  Today, still firmly rooted at the creative forefront of contemporary Hawaiian music, Henry’s two decades-strong legendary “Dukes on Sunday” LIVE and now FACEBOOK LIVE afternoon concerts on Waikiki Beach are a destination spot for visitors and locals alike. His “Henry Kapono & Friends” ongoing concert series which seamlessly pairs together Hawaii’s top entertainers in fun and unique collaborations is also a big hit with locals and visitors and most recently Henry’s company, Kapono Inc., has opened up a management company for talented young musicians in Hawaii. The GRAMMY Museum is pleased to welcome Henry Kapono for a discussion on his extraordinary career, followed by an intimate performance. The evening will be hosted by Scott Goldman, Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum.
