Join us at the GRAMMY Museum for a special screening, panel, and live performance celebrating ALKEBULAN II, the powerful sequel to GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Matt B’s African-inspired album. Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ALKEBULAN II explores the struggles, resilience, and triumphs of our ancestors—mirroring Matt B’s own journey through life and music.
Filmed across Namibia and South Africa, this visually stunning film, directed by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Angela V. Benson and co-directed by Matt B, was crafted with an all-African production team and showcases emerging creatives in music, fashion, and storytelling. Featuring a rich blend of traditional African percussion, orchestral grandeur, and spoken word, ALKEBULAN II is a soul-stirring experience that pays homage to the past while shaping the future.
This program will be moderated by Schyler O’Neal, Sr. Manager, Education & Community Engagement, GRAMMY Museum.
