As one of the most renowned music and portrait photographers, Daniel Kramer’s photographs have been featured by the national Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum; the International Center of Photography; the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Folkwang Museum in Germany; the George Eastman Museum; and many other prestigious institutions. Rolling Stone describes him as “the photographer most closely associated with Bob Dylan” as he captured three Dylan album covers: Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Biograph. One of his most notable projects depicts the evolution of Dylan from folk musician to rock & roll icon during the years 1964-1965, and is currently on display in the GRAMMY Museum’s Special Exhibits Gallery on the second floor. In this collection of powerful photographs, Kramer captures key moments from Dylan’s career and provides a “backstage view” during a significant time in American history. In conjunction with our Bob Dylan: Photographs by Daniel Kramer exhibit, which is on display through May 15, 2016, the GRAMMY Museum is delighted to welcome Kramer to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion surrounding the exhibit and his enduring photography career, hosted by Bob Santelli, Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum.
