In celebration of Black Music Month, the GRAMMY Museum, in collaboration with the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), proudly presents a special evening spotlighting the influential work of music executive and producer Derryck “Big Tank” Thornton. Known for his powerful contributions to film and television soundtracks, Thornton has played a pivotal role in shaping the sonic landscape of Black storytelling in Hollywood.
Moderated by award-winning journalist Nekesa Moody , this conversation will explore Thornton’s journey from behind-the-scenes hitmaker to one of the most sought-after music supervisors in the industry. Attendees will gain insight into his creative process, hear stories from his acclaimed projects, and celebrate the enduring impact of Black music in visual media.
Join us at the GRAMMY Museum for an inspiring evening that honors the legacy, innovation, and cultural power of Black music.
