Warren Haynes, GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist/songwriter and revered guitarist, will discuss his critically acclaimed new solo studio album Ashes & Dust featuring Railroad Earth, as well as his illustrious career that includes 25 years with the Allman Brothers Band and 20 years at the helm of his band, Gov’t Mule. Named on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list and lauded as one of the most formidable guitarists and vocalists of the modern era, Haynes effortlessly cross-pollinates genres and unfurls solos that broil with passion in his distinctive, signature style. On his latest effort, Ashes & Dust, Haynes puts forth one of his most musically rich albums to date. Full of acoustic arrangements, an Americana soundscape and folk-based songwriting, Ashes & Dust is a musical departure for Haynes and features some of his most personal songs — some new, and some he’s been carrying around for 20 or 30 years but never recorded until now. The album, which sees Haynes diving deeper into acoustic and slide guitar, shines an entirely new light on the enduring creative spirit of this cornerstone of American music. Haynes will be on tour this gall, backed by acclaimed drummer Jeff Sipe and ChessBoxer. The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Haynes to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion surrounding his career and new album, moderated by GRAMMY Foundation Vice President Scott Goldman, and a special performance.
