Scott Weiland, best known for his role as lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has cumulatively sold over 44 million records worldwide. He garnered two GRAMMY Awards in the category of Best Hard Rock Performance — in 2005 for “Slither” and in 1994 for “Plush” — and successfully released a memoir titled, Not Dead & Not For Sale: A Memoir. In addition to this decorated musical resume, Weiland’s voice has driven some of the most recognizable hits in recent rock and roll history, including “Wicked Garden,” “Creep” and “Vasoline.” That said, his career is far from over. This year has seen him undergo his most powerful reinvention yet with The Wildabouts. On their first official studio album BLASTER (released in March), Weiland, guitarist Jeremy Brown, bassist Tommy Black, and drummer Danny Thompson elegantly infuse raw rock and roll with a poetic and passionate perspective. Produced by Rick Parker of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the album is as unadulterated as it is unique. With their new album, Weiland hopes that “Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans [will] be attracted … as well as a whole new fan base.” “It’s everything we wanted it to be,” he said. The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion surrounding their career and new album, and a special performance, hosted by GRAMMY Foundation Vice President Scott Goldman.
