A special benefit for the GRAMMY MuseumThe GRAMMY Museum will welcome GRAMMY Award winner James Taylor to the Clive Davis Theater for a special evening that will benefit the Museum’s education initiatives. Earlier this summer, Taylor received his first-ever No. 1 album with the June 2015 release of Before This World (Concord) — his first album of new material in 13 years. Recorded at his home studio TheBarn, in Washington, MA, Before This World explores many of the themes that have absorbed Taylor throughout his career. The past 10 years have featured an extensive tour schedule and notable touring and recording achievements for Taylor, including his acclaimed One Man Band Tour and concert performance DVD, which aired on PBS and was nominated for an Emmy Award; his successful Troubadour Reunion Tour and Live at the Troubadour album/DVD in collaboration with Carole King; two collections of cover songs, Covers and Other Covers; a heartwarming Christmas album, James Taylor at Christmas; and the 100-plus live performances throughout 2014–2015 across the United States, Europe, Ireland and the UK. Taylor has sold over 100 million albums throughout his career and has earned 40 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards, multiple GRAMMY Awards and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame. One of the defining musical figures of our time, Taylor continues to express himself and touch our lives with the enduring songs he writes. An Evening With James Taylor will feature a discussion surrounding his career and new album, moderated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli, followed by an intimate, acoustic performance.
