Of his latest album, So There, multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter/producer Ben Folds says, “This is one of the best records I’ve made.” Recorded at Folds’ Grand Victor Sound studio in Nashville, the new album – which debuted at No. 1 on the Classical charts – showcases Folds’ debut collaboration with celebrated Brooklyn-based classical sextet ensemble, yMusic. His album flourishes in the overlap between the pop and classical worlds, pairing eight brand-new pop songs with the eagerly awaited debut recording of Folds’ critically acclaimed “Concerto For Piano and Orchestra.” Folds first found international success as frontman for Ben Folds Five. With his subsequent solo career, Folds released multiple studio albums, two albums documenting his renowned live performances, a remix collection, music from film and TV, an a capella record, and numerous collaborations with artists from Sara Bareilles to William Shatner. Folds earned universal respect and praise as judge on five seasons of NBC’s a cappella competition series, “The Sing Off.” In addition, he has made cameo appearances in a variety of film and TV projects, including a role on NBC’s “Community.” The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Folds to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation surrounding his music, as well as his advocacy on behalf of music education and music therapy. The discussion will be followed by a brief live performance by Folds.
