To kick off the Los Angeles Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration week we welcome folk music icon and son to Woody, Arlo Guthrie. Arlo carries on the Guthrie family tradition with his timeless stories and unforgettable classic songs. With his singular voice as both a singer-songwriter and social commentator, he has maintained a dedicated fan base that spans the globe. In 1983 Arlo left the major record label system to pursue a life as a truly independent artist. He brought his thriving career into the hands of a family-run business with the launch of his own label Rising Son Records. A celebrated figure in American music, Arlo has the ability to connect with communities far and wide leaving a lasting impression of hope and inspiration. Hear Arlo on stage, along with GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli as moderator, discuss his tremendous career and how he continues to draw inspiration from his father’s legacy. After the interview, Arlo will take questions from the audience and will perform a selection of songs.
