Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter Andrew Bird began playing the violin at the age of 4 and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. Since beginning his recording career in 1997, he has released 12 studio albums; launched “Live From The Great Room,” a series of informal performances with the likes of John C. Reilly, Chris Thile, Jim James, Fiona Apple, The National’s Matt Berninger and more livestreamed from Bird’s living room; contributed to the score of the FX series “Baskets”; appeared on The Muppets soundtrack and debuted the first in a series of experimental composition works, Echolocations: Canyon. His newest album, Are You Serious, was released to widespread critical acclaim and features contributions from Fiona Apple, Blake Mills, Moses Sumney, and more. The GRAMMY Museum welcomes Andrew Bird to the Clive Davis Theater for a conversation on his successful career and latest album, moderated by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares. The conversation will be followed by a performance.
