A Conversation With Amy Allen Moderated by St. Vincent

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome hitmaker and the 67th Annual GRAMMY winner for Songwriter of the Year, non-classical Amy Allen to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening of discussion moderated by 6x GRAMMY Award-winning artist St. Vincent about her creative and collaborative process.

Earlier this year, Los Angeles-based and Maine-born songwriter Amy Allen made history when she became the first woman to win a GRAMMY for Songwriter of the Year, non-classical. This marked her eighth GRAMMY nomination and second win, following an Album of the Year award for her work on Harry Styles’ Harry’s House in 2023. She was also named Variety Hitmaker’s Songwriter of the Year, the National Music Publishers’ Association’s Top Female Songwriter of the Year, and iHeartRadio Music Awards’ Songwriter of the Year, in addition to scoring her 9th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songwriter chart thanks to her career-total of 57 Billboard Hot 100 songs.

But for Allen, these accolades are second to the opportunity to collaborate with artists she deeply admires, and the chance to make music that audiences continue to resonate with, year after year.

Amy Allen’s work transcends genre, encompassing country, Latin, alt-rock, K-pop, dance, R&B and more. This has made Allen a trusted creative force behind the biggest artists in music today. Allen was the sole co-songwriter across Sabrina Carpenter’s culture-shifting album Short n’ Sweet, and earned the same distinction on the newly-released Man’s Best Friend. Allen also co-wrote Rosé’ & Bruno Mars’ history-making hit “APT,” and worked on Rosé’s album rosie, which earned the highest debut by a Korean female artist in the history of the Billboard 200. She is also known for her work with Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Tate McRae, Dua Lipa, JENNIE, Kacey Musgraves, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Dean, Anderson .Paak, Omar Apollo, Teddy Swims, Inhaler, Megan Maroney, Koe Wetzel, Charli XCX, Carín León, Lizzo, Leon Bridges, Royel Otis, Halsey, Selena Gomez, Diplo and many more.

More than a hitmaker, Amy Allen is a rare songwriting talent who blends lyrical vulnerability with genre-defying instincts — and continues to shape the global soundscape, one song at a time.
