The Grammy Museum is thrilled to welcome Grammy Award-winning band MEGADETH to the Museum’s Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace for an evening discussing the release of their seventeenth studio album, their creative process, long career, and more, with a special performance. Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy rooftop views, a café, and a cash bar prior to the program.
MEGADETH are always and forever the point of no return for metal. It would be nearly impossible to conceive where heavy music and culture would’ve gone without the band founded, fronted, and fueled by vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Dave Mustaine. The blast radius of their impact has only magnified since 1983.
Thus far, they have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, earned a Grammy® Award (with 12 additional nominations), generated billions of streams, notched ten Top 9 entries on the Billboard 200, including their first-ever No. 1 album with their acclaimed self-titled seventeenth studio release, and captivated millions of fans in arenas and stadiums across the globe. Their catalog spans indisputable classics such as the platinum Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? (ranked No. 8 on Rolling Stone‘s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”), the platinum Rust In Peace, and the double-platinum Countdown To Extinction, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Following the success of Dystopia—which debuted in the Top 3 and earned the band’s first GRAMMY® Award for “Best Metal Performance”—and The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!, which returned the band to the Top 3 and received another GRAMMY® nomination, Megadeth reached a new career milestone with their self-titled album. Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the record was praised as one of the strongest releases of their career, reaffirming the band’s ability to evolve while remaining one of heavy music’s most influential creative forces.
Their influence can be felt practically everywhere—whether it’s Post Malone proudly sporting a So Far, So Good… So What! tattoo, Homer Simpson’s iPod displaying their name in The Simpsons, or Megadeth’s music and legacy appearing throughout film, television, gaming, and popular culture. Across five decades, the band has continually redefined heavy music, helping pioneer the thrash metal movement, shaping generations of musicians, and continuing to set the standard for artistic ambition and uncompromising musicianship.
Beyond music, MEGADETH has successfully expanded into lifestyle and consumer brands. The band entered the beverage space with their signature beer À Tout Le Monde in 2016, followed by Saison 13 in 2019, with the brand serving more than 15 million pints worldwide. In partnership with Keystone, Megadeth entered a new era of global expansion for Megadeth Beer.
Dave Mustaine has also extended his creative vision beyond the stage through House of Mustaine, the luxury wine brand he founded with his family. Blending music, culture, and fine winemaking, the collection debuted with the 2013 Symphony Interrupted Cabernet Sauvignon, inspired by Dave’s groundbreaking collaboration with the San Diego Symphony, and has since grown into an internationally recognized premium wine label.
