Celebrate summer at the Grammy Museum with a special Summer Free Day, presented by Banda El Recodo. Enjoy complimentary admission and a full day of live music, special programming, and exhibitions.

Programming
- A conversation with Banda El Recodo moderated by Gabriel Abaroa, former President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, followed by an acoustic performance
- Special recognition presented by the City of Los Angeles
- Limited meet-and-greet with Banda El Recodo (first-come, first-served)
- Additional live performances by singer Mia Marcella and LAUSD’s Banda Sinaloense, led by music educator Eloy Adame
Exhibitions
- Explore the Museum’s immersive exhibits and interactive experiences
- Electric Forest featuring a custom five-track soundtrack by Banda El Recodo
- Special pop-up exhibit showcasing instruments, stage attire, and artifacts from the band’s legendary career
Schedule of Events
- 11:00 a.m. – Museum Opens
- 11:45 a.m. – Conversation, recognition, and acoustic performance by Banda El Recodo
- 1:20 p.m. – Meet-and-greet (first-come, first-served)
- 3:00 p.m. – Additional live performances by singer Mia Marcella and LAUSD’s Banda Sinaloense, an ensemble of high school students that showcases the sounds and traditions of regional Mexican music, led by music educator Eloy Adame.
- 5:00 p.m – Museum closes
ABOUT BANDA EL RECORDO
Formed in 1951, the eclectic group has performed a mix of Latin dance tunes, jazz swing, and classical music, bringing its music from the barrios of Mexico to the international stage. The first “banda” to be recorded, Banda El Recodo has recorded more than 178 records. They are one of the most decorated artists in the history of the Latin Grammy Awards®, with nine Latin Grammy® wins (the most by any banda) and numerous additional nominations. They have also received six Grammy Award nominations.
