About
Professional Development

At the GRAMMY Museum, we believe that teachers are the cornerstone of nurturing the next generation of music makers, innovators, and cultural leaders, and we are dedicated to supporting teachers as they guide students in exploring music as both an art form and a pathway to understanding the world around them. Our professional development (PD) programs provide educators with opportunities to examine the intersection of music, culture, and the creative economy, while equipping them with tools to strengthen their classroom practice.

Program Focus

Music and Industry Integration

Exploring how contemporary industry practices – songwriting, production, management, and digital platforms – connect with and expand traditional music instruction.

Transferable Skills

Highlighting the leadership, collaboration, and creativity students already develop in music classrooms, and how these skills prepare them for careers both within and beyond music.

Cultural Contexts

Engaging with the diverse traditions and histories that inform today’s music, fostering cultural competence and inclusivity in teaching.

Practical Applications

Providing classroom strategies, project ideas, and adaptable frameworks that teachers can take directly into their schools.

Sessions are interactive and reflective, designed to give educators space to exchange ideas, engage with case studies, and experience how music can be a bridge to student engagement and career readiness. Facilitated by GRAMMY Museum Teaching Fellows and industry practitioners who are The Recording Academy, PD sessions emphasize process, exploration, and connection – ensuring teachers leave with both inspiration and tangible strategies.
