With all her musical success, Dionne Warwick has managed to stay on the fringe of the industry spotlight living life quietly and unassuming. But, when it comes to helping others and ridding the world of social intolerance she has lived a life out loud and bold.
Dionne has never flaunted her fame or talent but, instead, used it to inspire and influence, in turn, attracting a plethora of celebrities & world leaders from Quincy Jones to Queen Elizabeth to Elton John to Michael Jackson to First Lady Nancy Reagan to Presidents Obama & Clinton, who recognized and respected her not just for her artistry but her humanitarian efforts — making her a gem in American culture and around the world. Please join us in the Clive Davis Theater for a special screening of Being Dionne Warwick. Co-hosted in conjunction with Centric Network and Bright Music Records/Caroline/EMI/Capitol, and co-produced by Celeb Group, Being Dionne Warwick gives viewers an intimate look at the sometimes reclusive Warwick. Told in Warwick’s voice and through personal and professional testimonials, the film tells the story behind the music; allowing us to see Dionne Warwick for the rare woman she is as she walks us through the decades and shares what motivated her during pivotal times of her life. Following the screening, GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Vice President Scott Goldman will lead a panel discussion, featuring Warwick, reflecting on the film. Other panelists include Paxton Baker, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Centric/BET Bright Music Records/Caroline/EMI/Capitol and Leota Blacknor, Vice President, Label Urban Relations & Acquisition for Virgin Records.
