The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome one of today’s hottest young artist/producer duos The Chainsmokers to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate Q&A and first listen of their new music. The evening will be hosted by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares. Comprising Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, The Chainsmokers have evolved into a dominating musical force with a diverse repertoire of songs and a signature sound that deftly reaches across indie, progressive and pop realms and original tracks and remixes that have topped the charts throughout the world. Their evolution as producers and as songwriters has seen them dial up some of the biggest breakthrough songs of the year. Luminous tracks such as the double-platinum “Roses” featuring Rozes (which Stereogum hailed as one of the “10 best songs of the year”) and the chart-topping Bouquet EP have fueled their ascent as a breakout duo with an unparalleled ability to craft undeniable pop gems. “Roses,” which reached the Top 5 at Pop Radio and Top 5 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, was followed by “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya, marking their third No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The double-platinum track ruled the airwaves, hitting No. 1 at Pop Radio for three straight weeks and Top 5 on the iTunes Top Songs chart. The Chainsmokers recently released their current single “Closer” featuring vocals from rising star Halsey and the duo’s own Drew Taggart. The track marks their first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and their third Top 10 on the chart this year, shooting to the No. 1 spot on iTunes and Spotify upon release and bringing their worldwide streams to over 1.5 billion. This year, The Chainsmokers have been nominated for two Billboard Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. They have performed all over the world to sold-out crowds at their own headline shows and major festivals including SXSW, Ultra and Coachella, where their set was ranked as one of Billboard’s “11 Best Moments” of the festival.
