SESH
GRAMMY Museum SESH is a suite of sessions designed to introduce, educate and equip our community with skills, knowledge, and resources used throughout the music industry. These sessions consist of, Museum Summer Session, After-School SESH for Middle & High School, Industry SESH for ages 18+, and Family SESH for ages 3-7 with a parent or guardian. Topics include, Music Production, Songwriting, Music Business, and more.
GRAMMY Museum Summer SESH
GRAMMY Museum Summer SESH is a free five-day non-residential songwriting workshop for students currently enrolled in High School, providing valuable resources to help you build a solid foundation in songwriting.
Summer SESH 2023 Schedule:
- Los Angeles (IN PERSON): Tuesday, June 13 – Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the GRAMMY Museum in Downtown Los Angeles
Deadline to Apply for Summer SESH (Los Angeles) is April 15, 2023
IMPORTANT – Please get your application in EARLY. There are limited spaces available and, we will be accepting students on a rolling basis as applications come in.
After-School SESH
Music Production 101 – This four-week hands-on course is designed to acquaint students with the process of Music Production using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Students will learn how to produce a customized audio and midi configuration to create their own song using software instruments, loops and Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Day’s: Every Tuesday from October 11 – November 15
Time: 4:30pm-6pm PST
Age: 13-17

Industry SESH
Music Business 101 – Students will gain a basic understanding of several areas within the Music Business including, music publishing, licensing, copyright laws, marketing, and more.
Day’s: Every Wednesday from October 12 – November 16
Time: 2pm-4pm PST
Age: 18+
Location: Online
Songwriting 101 – This six-week course will help develop the fundamentals of songwriting, how to discover yourself through your writing, analyze hit songs, songwriting structures, and more.
Day’s: Every Thursday from October 13 – November 17
Time: 2pm-4pm PST
Age: 18+
Location: Online
Artist Development: Live Performance – This six-week course will help develop the fundamentals of live performance.
Day’s: Every Thursday from March 16 – April 20
Time: 2pm-4pm PST
