GRAMMY Museum and Rock & Roll Forever Foundation present: Evolution of Sound Recording

Say goodbye to your fingernails as we scratch the surface of the history of recorded sound! Recording audio has evolved a lot over the past one-hundred years. Students will discuss pros and cons as they scroll the timeline of recording techniques such as disc-etching, magnetic tape, and digital audio. Along the way, discover how artists such as Les Paul and Mary Ford, Pink Floyd, and Bon Iver reimagined what was possible in the recording studio. Then create your own multitrack song or artwork to share with classmates or friends.
