Pulitzer Prize-winner Kendrick Lamar’s groundbreaking album, DAMN, is more than just music. It is a statement, a story. From his performance atop a vandalized police car on the BET Awards to his commentary-laced lyrical rabbit holes, Kendrick Lemar knows how to tell a story. By examining some of his tracks and videos, we will decipher his intent and compare Lamar’s mode of storytelling to the earlier work and activism of the revolutionary Gordon Parks.
