For five decades, America’s first pop band to reach the 50-year milestone has recorded and performed the music that has become the world’s favorite soundtrack to summer. Founded in Hawthorne, California in 1961, The Beach Boys are one of the most beloved musical acts of all time and have enchanted listeners around the world. After releasing the critically acclaimed SMiLE Sessions last fall, The Beach Boys reunited this year for a new album with Capitol Records and a major tour to commemorate the band’s 50th Anniversary. The Beach Boys had their best-ever Billboard albums chart debut in June with That’s Why God Made The Radio, their 29th studio album, and their 50th Anniversary Tour is now underway in Europe, having concluded its North American run. The Beach Boys will release two new hits collections and twelve remastered classic studio albums this fall, and a career-spanning 50th Anniversary box set is planned to cap the year’s commemorative releases. Join us as we help continue their 50th Anniversary celebration with an intimate interview with Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks, moderated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli, and a brief acoustic performance in the Clive Davis Theater.
