The Drop: Busta Rhymes

The Grammy Museum is thrilled to welcome legendary twelve-time Grammy Award-nominated artist Busta Rhymes to the Museum’s Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace for an evening celebrating the release of his new album, DILLAGENCE II with a discussion moderated by nine-time Grammy Award-winning artist Anderson .Paak about his creative process, career, and more, and a special performance. Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy rooftop views, a café with food, and a cash bar prior to the program.

ABOUT BUSTA RHYMES

Few artists have left a mark on hip-hop as deep, or as loud, as Busta Rhymes. His rapid-fire, tongue-bending delivery pushed the artform to move faster and hit harder, and more than three decades in, he’s still setting the pace. He came up in East Flatbush through Leaders of the New School and announced himself on A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario,” then built a solo career that’s sold more than 10 million albums worldwide with seven Top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200, including the No. 1 The Big Bang. He’s worked with Dr. Dre, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Wayne, and holds 12 GRAMMY nominations, the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Rock the Bells Visionary Award. JAY-Z called him the greatest performer of all time.

In August 2026 he released DILLAGENCE II, built on the productions of J Dilla, whose work runs through seven of Busta’s ten studio albums. Near the end of his life, Dilla handed him a vault of beats. Two decades later Busta made them into a record, writing and executive producing it and bringing in D’Angelo, Lil Wayne, Common, Jon Batiste, Anderson .Paak, and Ludacris. Dilla’s mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, opens and closes the album in her own voice.

The holder of this ticket is granted admission to the indicated facility for the purpose of viewing the specified event.
