Grammy Camp is a national music industry program for high school students interested in having a career in music. Students from across the country will have the opportunity to apply for a variety of Grammy Camp programs. Led by Grammy Camp faculty of music industry professionals, GRAMMY Nominees and Winners, Grammy Camp is the industry’s only summer camp dedicated to providing students valuable insight from real-world music makers to give campers the best chance at achieving success in their chosen career.

For the 2027 summer season, Grammy Camp will be expanding to five locations across the United States:

GRAMMY Camp Nashville will be held from June 6 to June 12, 2027.
GRAMMY Camp Miami will be held from June 21 to June 25, 2027.
GRAMMY Camp Los Angeles will be held from July 11 to July 17, 2027.
GRAMMY Camp Seattle will be held from July 26 to July 30, 2027.
GRAMMY Camp New York will be held from August 8 to August 14, 2027.

Application
Process

The Grammy Camp Application is a multi-step process, and there will be different supplement materials needed depending on the location you choose to apply for:

For Grammy Camp Nashville, Miami, New York, and Seattle

Complete the initial application (contact information, school information, career track choice, location choice, etc.)
Submit your audition materials for the career track you applied for. You will receive a confirmation email once you complete the initial application that will direct you to complete the audition materials.
As part of the audition materials, you will be asked to submit the following:
- Specific Career Track Requirements
- Video Essay explaining why you would like to participate in GRAMMY Camp; what you hope to gain from the experience; what are your long-term career goals in the music industry; etc.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, there is a financial aid form you music fill out as part of the application process. Without completing this form, you will not be considered for a scholarship.

For Grammy Camp Los Angeles

Complete the initial application (contact information, school information, etc.)
Submit two distinct samples showcasing working in at least two career track areas. Examples include:
- Songwriting – original composition(s), lyric sheets, demo recordings.
- Music Production – digital productions, beat-making, recorded tracks.
- Instrumental/Vocal Performance – video or audio recordings of live or studio performances.
Submit a Video Essay explaining why you would like to participate in GRAMMY Camp; what you hope to gain from the experience; what are your long-term career goals in the music industry; etc. This should also include an “artist statement” explaining your creative identity, your experience in the chosen area, and how you plan to grow through collaboration in a cohort setting.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, there is a financial aid form you music fill out as part of the application process. Without completing this form, you will not be considered for a scholarship.

Where and when will Grammy Camp be held in the summer of 2027?

Grammy Camp Nashville will be held Sunday, June 6 – Saturday, June 12, 2027.

My child is 18 or older. May they be on their own?

No. Campers must reside with a parent/guardian or with an adult approved by the Grammy Museum.

My child has a sibling who attends college or lives in the Grammy Camp host city. May my child stay with a sibling?

No. Campers must reside with a parent/guardian or with an adult approved by the Grammy Museum.

Who is eligible to apply to Grammy Camp?

To be eligible, you must be a U.S. resident currently enrolled in grades 9–12 (public, private, parochial, home school, etc.). If you are graduating from high school in the spring, you are eligible to apply. However, incoming freshmen are not eligible.

May I apply if I have no music experience?

While experience varies from Camper to Camper, we encourage anyone seriously interested in music as a career to apply.

How many students attend Grammy Camp?

Approximately 70 students are selected for Grammy Camp in Los Angeles, 60 students are selected for Grammy Camp in Nashville, and 40 students are selected for Grammy Camp in Miami and in New York.

What is the program cost and what does it include?

Grammy Camp tuition varies by location:

Nashville and New York: $3,400 per student
Miami and Seattle: $2,500 per student
Los Angeles: $3,600 per student, including undergraduate college credit.

Through a partnership with Inspire EDU, students who successfully complete Grammy Camp Los Angeles can earn undergraduate college credit through Golden West College. Students will receive a transcript that can be submitted to their higher education institution; acceptance of the credit is at that institution’s discretion. Accreditation information for additional Grammy Camp locations will be announced later this year.

Tuition supports the full camp experience, including instruction, program materials, guest artists and industry professionals, facilities, staffing, and student programming.

What kind of Financial Assistance is available?

Need–based financial assistance is available and interested applicants must complete the Financial Assistance Form in addition to completing all other application materials. We encourage everyone who is interested in Grammy Camp to apply, regardless of your financial situation.

Is there an Application fee I should know about?

Yes, there is a one–time $25 application fee for Grammy Camp.

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to apply for Grammy Camp is February 28 and all materials should be received by the Grammy Museum on or before that date. Should you need additional time, please email us to request an extension.

When will selectees be announced?

We will contact selected Campers mid-April.

During Grammy Camp, how are Campers supervised?

Grammy Museum Staff, Camp Faculty, and Counselors will be onsite with Campers during their days at Grammy Camp.

Where will campers stay in the evenings?

All Grammy Campers will need to figure out their own housing and transportation if selected for Grammy Camp. If selected, Grammy Museum staff will supply you with housing suggestions for the area Camp is located in.

How does LA Camp differ from the other locations?

Grammy Camp LA is the more advanced of the four Camps, with the intent of working towards cohort-defined projects and outcomes.

How does one assess which Grammy Camp location/session to apply for?

Los Angeles is the more advanced of the four camps, requiring a higher level of proficiency in at least two of the defined areas of the application (music production, songwriting, or performance). But please don't let this dissuade you from applying to the ones you want to apply to. Depending on your application, you may be suited for another location/session.
